Founded in 1920 in Markneukirchen/Vogtland still under the name "Maxima", OPTIMA developed into one of the best-known and best-selling German string brands.
In addition to the excellent products made of classic materials, it was a very special innovation that made the traditional German brand world famous: the 24K GOLD STRINGS.
International stars of the electric guitar scene, such as Queen guitarist Brian May, among others, made the precious strings an integral part of their sound.
OPTIMA has long offered this high-end quality, whether with gold or without, not only for guitars but also for all areas of stringed instruments. The takeover of the Lenzner Musiksaiten-Manufaktur in 2015 has significantly upgraded this area of the range. For example, the legendary Goldbrokat strings have been continuously available since then.
In addition, the Optima company offers a comprehensive range of strings for traditional instruments such as the zither, dulcimer or Tyrolean folk harp under the brand name BERGFEE.
